Comprehensive clinical practice guidelines enabled the ED to use many different approaches to control pain reducing ED opioid use by over 80%! The team created important partnerships with community organizations to promote OORP (Outpatient Opioid Recovery Programs) for patients with Opioid Use Disorder. This team developed MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) in the ED for buprenorphine treatment along with a Naloxone outreach program. Comprehensive clinical practice guidelines enabled the ED to use many different approaches to control pain reducing ED opioid use by over 80%! The team created important partnerships with community organizations to promote OORP (Outpatient Opioid Recovery Programs) for patients with Opioid Use Disorder. This team developed MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) in the ED for buprenorphine treatment along with a Naloxone outreach program.
